In these end times , it’s imperative that we as the people of God remain confident in our God that He will do what He said He would. Not only should we remain confident in Him but in each other as well. One of the purposes of meeting together as Christians is to encourage one another. “Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching,” Heb. 10:25 (AMPLIFIED BIBLE). One of the purposes of the local Church is for the encouragement of the Believer according to 1 Cor. 14:3 (AMPLIFIED BIBLE): “But [on the other hand], the one who prophecies [who interprets the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching] speaks to men for their upbuilding and constructive spiritual progress and encouraging and consolation.” That encouragement is a natural consequence of faith in God and His Word. That encouragement also comes from personal relationships with those of like faith. Iron sharpens iron. We encourage and sharpen each other with words of faith building confidence. We’re encouraged to hold fast to our confidence because it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward, Heb. 10:35. We are living in the last days and are reminded practically on a daily basis of it. The last thing a Christian wants to do is lose their hope and confidence. Speaking with an acquaintance recently, they confessed to me that they had just lost everything. They had lost their home, their relationship with their spouse and children was on shaky ground, they were living with their mother, had lost their job, and one of their children were in jail. They felt like they had no friend and all was lost. I informed them that that was not true and that God loved them and that they had a friend in Jesus and they had a friend in me. Never lose your hope and confidence in God. Keep the Vision Alive!
