The Word of God is clear in revealing that genuine faith in Christ will produce world-overcoming faith. CCC had a powerful Bible study on last Wednesday evening as we examined 1 Jn. 5:1-15 that is a powerful testimony concerning the blessings of our identification with Christ. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God,” 1 Jn. 5:4, 5 (KJV). This is not just a head knowledge but a genuine heart experience with God, believing and confessing that Jesus is Lord. Christ is the central personality of our salvation. That Father God sees the Believer as He sees Christ, as it relates to our position in Him, is a revelation throughout the New Covenant. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me,” Gal. 2:20 (KJV). “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also, should walk in newness of life,” Rom. 6:3, 4 (KJV). “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus,” Eph. 2:4-6 (KJV). Evident by the above scriptures that this position in Christ results in a heart change is unmistakable. Our fellowship, communion, and relationship with Christ is proof of our position in Christ because we love what God loves and hate what God hates. “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous,” 1 Jn. 5:3 (KJV).
