“And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed,” Lk. 17:26-30 (KJV). What is it that God wants us to be mindful of from the days of Noah and Lot that evidently is a warning to our generation which for sure is an end time generation? Well, first let’s look at what the Bible says about Noah’s generation and Lot’s generation. “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually,” Gen. 6:5 (KJV). “I have also seen in the prophets of Jerusalem a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah,” Jer. 23:14 (KJV). Compare the scripture concerning Noah’s time, Gen. 6:5, and the scripture comparing the nation of Israel with Sodom and Gomorrah, Jer. 23:14, to the New Testament scripture in 2 Thess. 2:3 (Amplified Bible) and we can see a clear picture of the culture of the end times. “Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day will not come except the apostasy comes first [unless the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come], and the man of doom (of perdition).” The one common denominator in all of these generations is that God has been pushed way down, if He’s on it at all, on man’s priority list. Where is God? No, I’m not talking about geographically, but where is God in the hearts and minds of men? Keep the Vision Alive!
