Well praise the Lord saints of God. My prayer today for you is that every partner and friend of Calvary Christian Center is walking in the blessings of God and His divine favor. Prayer changes things and there is power in prayer. Prayer can do whatever God says it can do and that is much. “Is anyone among you afflicted (ill-treated, suffering evil)? He should pray. Is anyone glad at heart? He should sing praise [to God]. Is anyone among you sick? He should call in the Church elders (the spiritual guides). And they should pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Lord’s name. And the prayer [that is] of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working],” James 5:13-16 (Amplified Bible). But lets take this further because we shouldn’t just wait until we’re attacked in our bodies, or after some calamity strike before we go into prayer to God. But prayer is a way of life for the Christian. It’s what we do in the good times and the bad. It’s our mode of operandi. Personally, for me, prayer is my lifeline to the source of all that is good and righteous. Prayer is my direct connection to my spiritual Father. Prayer is the posture of the mature Believer because it’s in prayer that we are illuminated of our strengths and weaknesses. It’s where we make things right with our God, our brothers & sisters, & ourselves. Prayer is my hiding place, my secret place, my closest where, like Clark Kent, I go in one way but come out re-strengthened, revived, renewed, rejuvenated, and refreshed because in prayer I’m hanging out with my God and if we hang out with the Father of spirits, He will rub off on us. There is no way that we spend time and make ourselves available to God and not be changed by His Presence. “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore,” Ps. 16:11 (KJV). Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord,” Acts 3:19 (KJV). Prayer escorts us into the Presence of the all sufficient God. With Him all things are possible if we believe. We will be challenging partners and friends in our outline for this Sunday message to have a tenacious faith that is persistent in prayer holding fast to the profession of our faith through confidence in God, in ourselves, and in our brothers and sisters in Christ. Keep the Vision Alive!
