As we celebrate the 130 th . Yr. anniversary of Calvary Christian Center today I am reminded of the horrific storms that Harvey and Irma were and both of these storms occurring in the same year, that wrecked havoc on the gulf coast and along the east coast of the U.S. In 130 yrs. I’m sure that there have been many storms weathered along the way as well as there will be many storms to face in the future. But storms are a part of life and it’s in the midst of storms that we are molded into the men and women of Christian character as long as we depend on Him during the storm. One thing is for sure if you’re still breathing and in your right mind you ought not have any problem lifting up your hands and telling God thank you. Many living in the Caribbean Islands, Key West, Puerto Rico and other vulnerable areas, really took a hit, therefore, we are blessed if all we experienced was a little inconvenience of an electrical power outage, having to evacuate, and throw away some food. Those things are important, but the most important thing is you, your safety and the safety of your loved ones. As we celebrate 130 yrs. of ministry we should see it as 130 yrs. of equipping individuals, as well as families, for the real-life challenges where we live every day. We serve a real-life God with real-life answers to real-life problems. The Word of God has made the difference in the lives of the many parishioners who have passed through the doors of Calvary Christian Center and moving forward the Word of God will keep all that obey it and walk by faith and not by sight. The Word kept us through Irma and though many evacuated we returned home safely yet I would solicit the prayers of the saints on behalf of the Williams family. We know God is with Sis. Sheila Williams, Dea. Ed Williams Jr. and family as they fight one of, if not the greatest storm they’ve had to face in recent years. God’s Presence and keeping power be upon Sis. Sheila Williams in Jesus name, Amen.
