The voice of the Church of Jesus Christ is very much needed to be heard in this hour of hate, anger, racism, prejudice, and just negative emotions from the hearts of men. Evil is all around us and ever present and God is also all around us and ever present. The Church will be held accountable for it’s stewardship of the message of the gospel. It’s silence during these times of need is, in my humble opinion, what has contributed to many of the vices in this country. The Church, of course not everyone but certainly the Church as a whole, has been silent on subjects down through the years because we find ourselves on the wrong side of truth. Regardless of political affiliation, color of skin, etc., the Church is the mouthpiece of God and His kingdom. We’re ambassadors of the kingdom of Heaven and are to call right, right and wrong, wrong , not our opinion, or how we feel about it, but what our God says about any one given subject. In this generation we find ourselves aligning with a political party or a particular culture or ethnicity first and our faith in God is an afterthought . I am convinced that when the Church stands against all evil regardless of whether it’s a democrat, a republican , white, black and everything in between, then the better opportunity we will have to be on the right side of truth. As I witness the hate spewed out on social media, in the public comments of the local newspaper, news media outlets, etc., I can but wonder concerning the times that we live in. The world needs the light from the lighthouse to give direction in these times of darkness. We are the children of light and not of the darkness. “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltiness be restored,” Matt. 5:13 (Amplified Bible).
