Agape must touch every action of the Believer. 1 Cor. 13:1-3 is crystal clear that without love our anointings and giftings mean nothing. Rom. 13:8 says that we owe no man anything except to love them. “Keep out of debt and owe no man anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor [who practices loving others] has fulfilled the Law [relating to one’s fellowmen, meeting all for its requirements],” Rom. 13:8 (AMPLIFIED BIBLE). The entire Bible, the Law, is basically this, love God and neighbor. Though the word love is not in Matt. 7:12 it is certainly implied and is the fulfilling of the law. “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets,” Matt. 7:12 (KJV). Love balances the gifts, anointings, and talents that God have blessed us to have so that we don’t abuse them for our own selfish and self-centered motives. This is what is meant in Gal. 5:13 (KJV): “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.” Love is the highest law. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is not law.” There is no law against love because love is the highest law. If you love others you won’t kill them, rob them, lie on them or scandalize their name. Love is the more excellent way. “But earnestly desire and zealously cultivate the greatest and best gifts and graces (the higher gifts and the choicest graces). And yet I will show you a still more excellent way [one that is better by far and the highest of them all – love],” 1 Cor. 12:31 (AMPLIFIED BIBLE). Love would take the money spent on war and the arms race and rid our world of hunger, have healthcare for all, and eradicate poverty. Love would annihilate all ills.
