“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him,” Ps. 28:7 (KJV). The Lord truly is the strength of the Christian who trusts in the God of their salvation. We can certainly be confident that He is a present help in time of need. “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him,” 1 Jn. 5:14, 15 (KJV). The Lord is on the side of them that obey Him and His ears are attent unto their prayers. We as Christians cannot allow anything or anyone to steal from us the confidence we have in our heavenly Father and His Word. Without it we cannot please Him but with it all things are possible to them that believe. Satan attempts to get us to doubt God by attacking us through the sense realm and bombarding our minds with thoughts designed to cause doubt if we allow our senses to overpower our faith in the principles of God’s Word. Therefore the command from God to doubt not in our hearts but believe what we pray for will come to pass and we will have whatever we say. We are blessed to understand the revelation of the Father, His Son, and His Holy Spirit. Our confidence in God must go beyond the realm of our senses or beyond our perception through the senses. This is the common thread throughout scripture. Faith is the way to salvation. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation,” Rom. 10:9, 10 (KJV).
