Board of Directors and I met on Tuesday, 5-26-20 via Zoom to discuss plans for returning worship services at Calvary Christian Center. I proposed to the Board that we should move forward in phases in the restoration of worship services. Those phases and the speed in which we move from one phase to the next will be determined by recommendations from government, state, local authorities, and wisdom according to the needs of our congregation. Most Churches presently are in phase 2. The phases are as follows: Phase 1. Restricted Operations – Phase 1 operations have the most strict requirements due to the concern of the spread of COVID-19, where we have the most responsibility to keep physical distancing. No gathering of staff or congregation is authorized except what’s needed for the necessary functions of the ministry. Phase 2. Reduced Operations – Reduced operations allow for the lightening of restrictions towards gatherings and will allow for small groups of people to gather together. We will have our next Board meeting at the Church and possibly our School of Ministry class as long as participants are in agreement. Phase 3. Limited Operations – Limited operations allow for the gathering of larger groups of people, 20-100 people. Even then we will practice physical distancing and wearing of masks. I personally think that we are weeks, if not months away from phase 3. Finally Phase 4 will allow for the return of even our vulnerable members yet keeping protective measures in place as the Board of Directors deem necessary. This plan is only to give the partners of CCC some idea of when we will return worship services adding that until there is a vaccine for COVID-19 there won’t be a return to what was before COVID-19. Of course, we know God is in the equation therefore we know with Him all things are possible to them that believe but until we see the manifestation of His glory we’ll use wisdom in the best interest of the parishioners of CCC. As we continue to monitor the information coming from reputable sources we will use present resources to communicate with the congregation.
