I pray everyone is being safe and are healthy spirit, soul, & body. I’m sure that we’re all praying that our area and the nation will do whatever is necessary to be victorious over COVID-19 and can finally get back to some normalcy. This pandemic has brought out a lot of painful things that obviously our country was not at all prepared for. There have been too many deaths and not enough done to combat this virus. It is beyond me how bad and toxic it has gotten in this country when we find ourselves facing racial injustice, a pandemic, and an economic melt down and politics has infected leadership making the right decisions on how to handle them. In reality it shows how hate, when it goes unchecked, can bring a nation down to it’s knees. I say hate because much of this, if not all of it, has some connection to the racial tensions in this country and the political polarization in this country. Even among Christians we’re just as divided as non-Christians. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said that Sunday morning is the most segregated hour of the week. Whites go to their places of worship while African Americans go to theirs, with few exceptions. That in itself proves that even within the Body of Christ we’re more influenced by culture than faith, at least when it comes to race. If I need a blood transfusion it does not matter whether you’re black, white, or polka dotted, if you have the same blood type as I do then your blood can save my life and vice-versa. The voice that should be the loudest against the wrongs in this nation has been muffled. The light from the light house is dim and confusing. It seems that some Christians put more priority in supporting the agenda of a political party than supporting the agenda of Heaven. One things is for sure. “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?” 2 Cor. 6:14 (KJV).
