Pastor’s Pen for Sunday, 10-18-20
Thank God for Jesus, His sacrifice, and for His resurrection without which there would be no salvation. The Father has provided again. That provision is real and for God’s people today, October 18, 2020, right now, present tense. You and I have no worries because Father God says that “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children; how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him,” Lk. 11:13 (KJV). Whatever we ask the Father, according to His will, He promises that He would do it. Living in worry and fear of what tomorrow holds is not the life of those of us who walk by faith and not by sight. He has not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind. In this season of confusion, God’s people are reassured by the promises of His Word. “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it,” Jn. 14:13, 14 (KJV). The truth is it’s the thief that comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus said I come that you might have life and have it more abundantly. These are the truths that we as kingdom citizens should hold fast to and these are what we the people of God should be focused on and not the lies of Satan, Lucifer, that old serpent the devil. Be consumed with His promises. Be filled with His Word, His Holy Spirit, and full of faith. “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies,” Ps. 18:2, 3 (KJV).
