Just a week after honoring Pastor Daniel Wilson I find myself honoring another of the generals in the body of Christ, Dr. Frederick K. C. Price. No other leader in the body of Christ has inspired my faith walk more than Dr. Price. No one taught the faith message with the passion that Dr. Price did. He and Dr. Betty Price operated in the spirit of excellence and integrity. First Lady and I have spent quite a bit of time in Los Angeles with the Prices in workshops and leadership meetings. The level of integrity, as well as the valuable information we gained from those investments, are priceless. The level of ministry on which Apostle Frederick K. C. Price operated is second to none. There’s something that caught my attention that very seldom have I heard mentioned about Dr. Price that was quite significant about him. He loved his people. I saw this as he spearheaded a credit union, youth programs, family events, and the many books he wrote to teach his people how to maximize their potential on the earth. One series that Apostle Price wrote that resonates more today than when it was written in his three-book volume titled, “Race, Religion, & Racism.” It’s a powerful read on racism in America and in the Church. That’s right, racism in the Church. The focus is on the kingdom more than race. Race just happens to be the main symptom the volume addresses. Nonetheless, Dr. Price will always be an influence in my life for I got to see and be part of a ministry whereas its leaders walked by faith and not by sight. As these generals make their transition from earth to heaven and have fought the good fight of faith, the baton is being passed on to this generation and we would do well to do half as much as they did.
