Prayer for our generation is much needed as we are experiencing an uneasiness in the land. Prayer for peace, goodwill for all mankind. The Church is to stand in the gap for the land, 2 Chron. 7:14. The prayers of the righteous availeth much. As Ezek. 22:30 (KJV) reads: 30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. God needs us to stand in the gap for our world, our country, our neighborhoods, our communities, our families, and for one another. The Church is in the most strategic position to do so. Just as Abraham stood in the gap for his nephew Lot and God sent angels to get Lot out of Sodom before judgment fell, so the prayers of the saints will make a difference today. When Peter was put in jail, the saints prayed for him without ceasing and God sent an angel to free Peter from the prison. When Peter knocked at the door where the saints were praying, they didn’t believe it was Peter, even though they were praying for his deliverance. Prayer changes things. Jesus said that men should always pray and not to faint. Prayer is powerful . 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them , and ye shall have them . 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses, . Mark 11:22-25 (KJV). The Bible said that Elijah prayed in James 5:17, that it not rain and it didn’t for 3 1/2 years. God gave His Church a tool in our spiritual arsenal that is a game-changer in the spiritual warfare that we find ourselves in each and every day, and that’s the power of prayer. Prayer is our direct line to God that the Church has access to any time day or night. Let’s pray.
