Today is the final day of CCC’s 21 Day Consecration and the beginning of a new chapter in 2024. It’s a chapter whereas we go higher in the kingdom. Before I continue though, I want to take this opportunity to thank God for the family of Mother Louise Massey Sheffield. Our prayers continue to be with the family and as I said in the Celebration of Life services for Mother Sheffield, when a pillar of the Church goes to Heaven, it leaves a void that now those of us who are carrying on must step up and fill. It’s as if there’s a changing of the guard and all that the pillars of Zion have taught and demonstrated will be put to the test through those of us who have stood upon their shoulders. The torch is being passed on to us now. The 21 Day Consecration is just one of the occasions by which God may use for enlightening His people for taking on that assignment. The day is at hand. The time is now for the Church to accept its purpose and assignment in the earth. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote in his book “Strength to Love,” that “The end of life is not to be happy nor to achieve pleasure and avoid pain, but to do the will of God.” In his “I’ve been to the mountain top” speech Dr. King said, “And I don’t mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life; longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will.” It’s difficult to think of the personal struggle that Dr. King had to grapple with to make the ultimate sacrifice that he was prepared to make and made. I personally am awed with the man’s achievements but there’s no doubt in my mind that Dr. King was able to do what he did because God gave him the grace for it. With man these things are impossible but with God all things are possible to them that believe. And so, we march into chapter 2024.
