Today, as I type this Pastor’s Pen, I’m reminded of one writer who said that our area didn’t dodge a bullet, we dodged a missile, speaking of Hurricane Ian. All I know is that God answered the prayers of the saints, not saying that there were not saints praying for Florida, we were just blessed that the timing of a wind shift, a cold front, and the moving of Hurricane Ian more easterly resulted in what followed in our area. For me though, it was God, and for that I thank Him and give God all the praise, glory, and honor. When we look at the devastation of Ft. Myers Fl., Tampa, Ft. Myers beach, and the surrounding communities, saints we are blessed that Hurricane Ian didn’t do the damage in our area that it did in theirs. Of course, our hearts and prayers go out to Floridians because no one wants to see these types of disasters happen to anyone. This is what I mean when I say that we just don’t know from one day to the next what life is going to throw at us. Yes, God is with us. Yes, God will provide. Yes, He is able, but He’s all those things to the Christians in Florida as well yet they find themselves temporarily without homes, food, water, and some of the simple necessities of life. I personally am going to find some way to donate to agencies that are presently in Florida helping those people recover from what will go down as one of the most consequential storms in Florida’s history, and I pray that Partners of CCC will find it in their hearts to do the same. We may not be able to be there with them, but we can support those agencies who can. That’s a personal decision for each individual to make and I very much respect that. Thank you, Lord, for your mighty outstretched arms to protect your people and keep us from all hurt, harm, and danger. Your grace is everlasting to everlasting and your mercy endureth to all generations. No flesh glories in your Presence, but You get all of the praise, all of the glory, and all of the honor.
