Time is moving and not stopping for anything or anyone. If you’re not careful, you’ll lose track of time and the next thing you know a deadline is upon you or missed altogether. James makes a real sobering revelation concerning time and our humanity as it relates to it. James 4:14 (KJV): 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. It reveals how fragile life is. James compared it to a vapor that’s here for a little while and then vanishes away. Whatever our visions and dreams are we’d better get busy and get them done because time is not waiting on us. We must make good use of the time that we have in this life. Time is a terrible thing to waste. You can’t get it back. Whenever it’s gone, it’s gone. I have the utmost respect for time, my time, and others. When we don’t respect one another’s time then we’re being inconsiderate. Time is precious and we should not waste it, ours or the next person’s. Ephesians 5:16 (KJV): 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Evil could mean what James said, that our lives will vanish away, or evil could mean the troubles we face in this life. Regardless, the point being, while the blood runs warm in our bodies, live. Enjoy your journey. Live life with purpose. Be fervent and intentional in your day-to-day activities. Whatever God’s plans and purposes are for your life give it your all giving glory to God for it is because of Him that we live and move and have our being. It’s our time now, the age of the Church and Jesus is soon to come back. Let Him find us occupying when He comes.
