As we prepare our hearts for consecration and reflection before God I pray that Father God reveals Himself in fresh and new perspectives not previously experienced by the people of God. The Church needs to preserve the foundational disciplines and practices that have been the bedrock of what has made the Church a force to be reckoned with from it’s conception. Fasting, praying, praise and worship are witnessed throughout the Word of God in the faith walkers who yearned for a closer walk with Him. God light a fire in our souls going into this new year matched by our desire to be on fire for Him. One of those faith walkers was Anna a prophetess in Lk. 2:36-38 (KJV): “And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher: she was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity; And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.” The Bible teaches us that when we draw nigh unto Him He will draw nigh unto us, James 4:8. Those that seek Him will be found of Him. The OT tabernacle teaches a progressive worship culminating in the Presence of God. In Acts 15:14-17, quoting from Amos 9:11, 12, God reveals that in the latter times He would restore the tabernacle of David meaning that He would raise up a people out of the gentiles that would seek after Him. When men spent time in His Presence He manifested His glory, Acts 13:1-3; 2 Chron. 7:1-3. We are that generation of Believers that have been blessed to partake of the fullness of this age of grace as it relates to our restoration to relationship, God consciousness, and dominion as was the original plan of God. As we go into CCC’s 21 Day Consecration I pray that we all focus on the positive and not the negative, the answer and not the problem, the good and not the bad, the right and not the wrong, the eternal and not the temporal and lets follow the example of the Shunammite woman for 2018, “…Drive, and go forward, slack not thy riding,” 2 Ki. 4:24 (KJV).
