Truth is becoming more of a casualty on the road of life in this end-time generation. People seem to be more concerned about what things look like than what they really are. We observe this mindset in the political arena (of course truth doesn’t have a chance anyway in that arena), in the news media, on social media, and even in the Church. Jn. 8:32 (KJV) reads: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” The word truth according to the American Heritage Dictionary means conformity to knowledge, fact, or actuality; veracity. Something that is the case; the real state of affairs. Reality; actuality. A statement proven to be or accepted as true. Sincerity; honesty. Why would anybody have a problem with the truth? Unless they are hiding something you would think that the truth would be what anyone would want to know, especially Christians. Yet it’s becoming increasingly obvious that in many instances this is not the case. People will lie at the drop of a hat and that with a straight face. The Word of God is still the same. It has not changed, even if the world has. A lie is still a lie and the truth is still the truth. The Bible still reads, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death,” Rev. 21:8 (KJV). Notice that liars, among many other sinful behaviors, is part of that list. The Word of God is clear that with any sinful behavior, it is the consequence of moving away from God. These are the last days saints, and we are witnessing the falling away prophesied in 1 Tim. 4:1; 2 Thess. 2:3. These verses of scripture speak moreso to the time of and just preceding the tribulation period yet the stage is being set for their fulfillment. Alarmingly, many in the household of faith are being swept up with this end time spirit of the age. It’s a real influence in the land and Christians will be snow balled as well if they’re not stedfast , unmovable and always abounding in the work of the Lord. Keep the Vision Alive!
