“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land,” 2 Chron. 7:14 (KJV). Prayer is powerful and if there’s a time when our nation needs prayer it’s now. I’ve had several people talk with me concerning current events and they wonder where is our country headed. Hate is so prevalent in our politics as well as on social media such as twitter, facebook, etc. So what do Christians do in face of the ills that plague our nation and our world today? Well, first of all we should make sure that we’re walking in the love of God and not find ourselves a part of the problem. Christians ought not to be spreading hate. And of course we should pray but when we get up off of our knees we must put some feet to our faith. We must become informed, involved, and participants in political discourse, be involved in our communities and let that involvement begin in the local Church. I am convinced that the Church of Jesus Christ has the answer to all of our challenges in this generation. Everyone will probably not agree with it but the Bible confronts and addresses every problem with a kingdom answer. The message of Christ is a message of hope, not hopelessness. The kingdom of Heaven’s message is a message of life and not death, love and not hate, peace and not war. Jesus is the answer to a lost world. When the people of God rise up to their place of purpose and destiny the governments of this world will be flocking to the Church for wisdom on how to implement programs to solve the hunger problem, solve racial issues, solve wars in our world, and many other challenges of our day. So you see that the Church has a very important, if not the most important, part to play in our world today to bring peace and good will to all men. Keep the Vision Alive!
