The Word of God will not return void but it will accomplish what pleases Him and prosper unto the thing that He desires though circumstances seem otherwise. Heb. 11 proves that contrary circumstances do not change the truth of God’s Word. Cain killed Abel yet God saw a more excellent spirit in Abel and he was included in the Hall of Faith. Though Abraham and Sarah were passed the age of childbearing from a natural standpoint yet Isaac was born of the promise. Joseph suffered 13 years before the dream that God had revealed to him came to pass. He was sold into slavery by his own brothers, but Joseph did not give up. He was lied on by Potiphar’s wife and thrown into prison. The chief butler forgot about him after Joseph had interpreted a dream for the butler after which Joseph asked the butler to remember him when Pharaoh restored him. The butler at first forgot Joseph but when Pharaoh also had a dream then the butler remembered Joseph and informed Pharaoh of how Joseph interpreted his dream and Pharaoh shared his dream with Joseph and he interpreted the dream. Pharaoh restored Joseph to second only to him. Moses was hidden from Egyptian butchers because God was with him choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. “And all of these, though they won divine approval by [means of] their faith, did not receive the fulfillment of what was promised. Because God had us in mind and had something better and greater in view for us, so that they [these heroes and heroines of faith] should not come to perfection apart from us [before we could join them],” Heb. 11:39, 40 (Amplified Bible). These faith greats are examples for Believers today. Though what had been revealed to them much of it would not be experienced by them, they trusted the wisdom of God. We can never understand fully the wisdom of God but we can have faith & trust in Him.
