The past 2 weeks have been filled with rallies and meetings surrounding the Ahmaud Arbery incident and there are many voices coming into the Golden Isles most of which are good. Then there are some that are questionable and you have to wonder what are their motivation? This is where the people of God must use wisdom in not allowing ourselves to be pulled into compromising situations especially in this present generation. Man as a whole has forgotten from whence cometh his help. Our help comes from the Lord who made Heaven and earth. When men take God out of the equation of life there’s a serious problem, but when men turn to God for help, wisdom, guidance and whatever he needs then God will reveal Himself for the awesome God that He is. Prayer still changes things. In the message today titled “The Parable of the Marriage Feast” we see the gospel message being offered to all but only the ones that receive it are chosen. Current events are indicative of the times in which we live. The fact that God has been more and more pushed out of the affairs of men can be seen in the actions of this generation. Call it old school or whatever but I’m convinced of the power of prayer because I’m convinced of the power of my God. “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth,” Mk. 9:23 (KJV). “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them,” Mk. 11:22-24 (KJV). In all of these things we must keep God in the equation and in the Ahmaud Arbery case I’m praying for justice for the senseless murder of this young man as well as peace for his Mom, Dad, and family. My prayer too is that we never forget where our help comes from. Our help comes from the Lord.
