Today the Church world celebrates Pentecost, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, Acts 2:1-4 (KJV): 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. It was a time of shifting in the Church whereas God fulfilled His prophecy to Israel in Ez. 36:24-7 (KJV): 24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. 25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them . Jesus had prepared the disciples for the shift. He spoke to them in Lk. 24:49 (KJV): 49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. The Lord taught His disciples for 3 ½ yrs. preparing them for the great commission. One of the last things that the Lord commanded His disciples was to wait in Jerusalem until they be endued with power. The Lord equipped His disciples for the ministry that He was ordaining them into. As Jesus prepared His disciples for the ministry of the early Church, teaching them, directing them, and leading them, because of what the day of Pentecost shifted in our age, the Lord can lead us, and guide us from within, by His Spirit. Our generation is the most challenging generation because it is an end time generation that will need the power of the Holy Spirit in order that we be a light in darkness. Amen.
