We are living in a very opportunistic time for the Church of Jesus Christ. What time is light more needed than in the darkest of nights? Prophecy describes the last days as a time of darkness and the Church should be aware that this is its finest hour to let it’s light shine. When do we need light the most? During the time of greatest darkness, and it does not take much light to dispel the darkness. Recently when tropical storm Ian passed near our home, we lost power for about 1 hr. First Lady and I keep candles in the house for just such an occasion and 1 candle easily lit up an entire room. What would happen if there were a group of candles? The Church is the candle of light in this season. For such a time as this have God raised us up in these last days. The Lord have blessed His people with so much at our disposal. The Covid-19 pandemic forced the Church to be more creative in it’s endeavors to reach the lost and we must be creative in our application of our creative ideas. The internet is the information highway. Social media has become a formidable conduit for communication. It has been discovered with the millennial generation social media has become a gauge for acceptance or non-acceptance among certain clicks. No wonder many young people are bullied on social media, because they feel like if they are to be accepted, they must play by the rules of the status quo. This is where I am convinced that the body of Christ must be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Creative yes, but also a mutual respect toward others remembering from whence we’ve come. Remaining true to the message of Christ but being creative in our outreach and mindful of the advanced times in which we live. We cannot get stuck in one way of doing things, not afraid to experiment with creative ideas prayerfully of course, leaning on His everlasting arms.
