“He is not here: for he is risen,” is one of the most essential statements in the life events of Christ. The meaning was that Jesus had risen. The one manifestation of the power of God in His resolve to save the man that sinned and had gotten himself separated from his Creator was the resurrection of Christ from the dead. The Lord kept His Word as He had prophesied, Mark 8:31 (KJV): 31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. Jesus will cause everything dead in our lives to rise up. I’m reminded of Isaiah 40:31 (KJV): 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Jesus said “I am the resurrection,” and resurrection is in every Believer, because the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead will also make our mortal bodies rise again as well, Romans 8:11 (KJV): 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Resurrection power resides in us. You and I have get up in us and the Holy Spirit will rise to the occasion when we need Him. Acts 1:8 (KJV): 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. The resurrection demonstrates our total dependence on our Lord, for without Him we could do nothing. We cannot save ourselves. It was only because of the resurrection and His sufferings that we enjoy the blessings of so great a salvation. The Amplified Bible: Isa 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the
chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole. “He is not here: for he is risen.”
