The Lord wants the people of God to know that He is in control and that His people not make the same mistake that Peter made. When Peter got out of the boat during the storm he did fine until he took his eyes off Jesus and got them on the storm. As long as he kept God his priority and kept his focus on what Jesus had told him, which was to “come” to Him on the water Peter walked on the water. Then Peter made the mistake that many Christians make today. He got into the sense realm, his emotions, his feelings, what the storm looked like, and began to sink. Jesus don’t want us to sink. That’s why He died and rose with all power in His hand. Sometimes victory seems out of our reach. Notice that I said “seems” like victory is out of our reach. That’s why we walk by faith and not by sight. When things seem a certain way and that way is not consistent with the Word of God, the Word is my true north and I’m staying with the Word. Jesus said come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burdens are light. His yoke is easy, and His burdens are light when we learn to trust in Him. That’s what the series was focused on titled, “Not by Might nor by Power,” but the Lord said it would be by His Spirit that the temple would be rebuilt by Zerubbabel, Joshua the priest, and the returned Jewish exiles who God raised up for the work because the people had a mind to work. That mind that God gave them to desire to do the work. It was of God that the people had a mind to work. The sooner we learn to rest in Him, the sooner we experience that His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. Have faith in your faith and just know that in all things and in every situation, God is in control.
