God is light, and in Him is no darkness, at all, according to 1 Jn. 1:5. God knows that if there’s a time that this world needs light, it’s in the present. The light of the Lord is all around us, but men choose to ignore the light. God’s light reveals His plans and purposes for man, unmask the enemy of our souls, show us the way to salvation, opens our eyes to that which cannot be seen in the natural but through faith we can see that there’s another realm that cannot be detected by the senses. God’s light reveals His love, an unconditional love that the Bible says that there’s no greater love than that a man gives his life for his friend. God loved us so much that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Through Christ we have access to God’s grace. This is why Satan fights so hard to blind men to the truth, because as the Word of God reveals in 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (KJV): 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. The longer men remain in darkness the more challenging it is to see the light of God’s Word and be delivered from the darkness. Men can stay in darkness so long that they begin to adjust and get use to the darkness and that is what is the most dangerous about remaining in and around darkness for long periods of time. We can get so used to darkness that what use to offend us doesn’t anymore because we’ve become de-sensitized and so it’s not as offensive or convicting to us. This is what is implied in Matthew 24:12 (KJV): 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold, so that because so much evil is present, others will be affected by it. Lord help us.
