Vision is acting like where you want to go before you get there. Bishop T. D. Jakes says that before you get to the next level you must acquire the discipline necessary to stay at that level or you’ll find yourself not prepared for the next level. You don’t want to wait until you get to the next level to prepare for it. You want to be ready so that when that next level window opens for you, you’re ready on day one to take advantage of that opportunity. Therefore, we want to obtain the discipline, skills, knowledge, tools, excellence, and integrity to, not only maintain the next level, but to focus on preparing for the next level after that. Praise the Lord! In order to do that we must be persistent, consistent, and committed to making it happen by always absorbing new knowledge concerning the area of interest where we want to go. Seeing it before you see it, or you never will see it is what vision and faith is all about. God gave Abraham a vision, a picture of where he was headed. Genesis 22:15-18 (KJV):
15
And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,
16
And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
17
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Then we must be about our Father’s business in making it happen, not procrastinating, slacking, but plowing ahead with enthusiasm, determination, standing flat footed and flint faced calling the devil what he is. He’s a liar and the truth is not in him.
Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV):
2
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
