As the people of God navigate this life, this generation in which we live, the influences that are constantly pushing us one way or another are ever-present. I’m convinced that influences are not given the attention it should be given because people, in general, are blinded to what it is that moves them. We assume we know and understand but in reality, we unconsciously act on persuasions that are very powerful and real. We see it in the Word of God when Jesus was asked by what authority did He do what He did and Jesus responded that He would answer their question if they would answer His. The baptism of John, was it of God or man? And because they knew if they said it was of God Jesus would ask them then why didn’t they believe him, and if they said it was of man they knew the crowd would be offended because they all believed that John was of God, they said we cannot answer and Jesus replied neither will I answer you. The Pharisees were influenced by the crowd. We see the power of influence throughout the history of the nation of Israel when the commentary for most of the kings was that they caused or influenced Israel to sin. Influence is real and it is powerful. We must not allow the influence of the world and this age to be more influential than God’s Word and His Holy Spirit. As we progress to the end of the age and the winds of change attempt to persuade us away from the truth of God’s Word we must resist it and stay with the Word. The Word is the truth and is God’s will in the earth. With all the change we experience the one change we don’t want is a change away from the truth. God’s way is the only way to prosperity spirit, soul, & body for the man He created.

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is
new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him
my new name.
