It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all of the chaotic events that are happening in the country. I’m reminded of the movie “The Perfect Storm” whereas a boat of fishermen was caught in a storm that caught their vessel in just the right (or wrong depending on how you look at it) circumstances which ended in the boat being overcome by a huge tidal wave that sunk the vessel and the fishermen losing their lives. That’s a far-fetched analysis to what we witness throughout our nation today but there is certainly an urgency as it relates to the 2020 Presidential election and the people of God need to be sober and vigilant on how we pray to God for our country. Now before I continue on this divisive subject I want everyone to know that I have no doubt that God is in control. I have no doubt about that. He knew all of this before the foundation of the world. But we’ve also got to understand that God’s involvement in the affairs of man depends on what that affair is. Also to the degree that God is involved depends on what that situation is. For instance, there are some things that cannot be changed regardless of what men do or pray for. There’s only one way to salvation and that’s through Jesus Christ. We can’t change that. But we have something to do with how faithful we are in our Christian journey. Then there are some things that really just happen that we can’t tell the degree that man or God is involved. We just don’t know. So, as it relates to the United States of America God is involved according to His will and also as we pray for Him to be involved. Since even Christians are all over the map and are just as split on current events as the rest of the world we truly need to be spiritually minded while praying for the peace of our nation but rest assured, God is in control!
