As much as it may not seem like it there are still good people around and as much as we like to put the attention on the negative personalities we encounter, maybe we should appreciate the people we encounter who are Christian and treat you with respect, compassion, thoughtfulness, and are considerate about your personal concerns. I don’t think that it’s a stretch for me to say that most Christians are more reserved, low keyed, and not loud and obnoxious people. I don’t know how others may feel about it but when I do come across a waitress who goes over and above the call of duty, or a mechanic who shows that they have my best interest at heart, or a cashier who is polite, courteous, and professional, I go out of my way to tip them, let them know I appreciate their professionalism, and it is just so awesome to be treated like you’re the customer and you’re appreciated instead of being treated like you stole something. I’m going to say this and I know it may sound a bit over the top, but it feels so good now when I do encounter a nice representative over the phone, or when I ask a question of my Dr.’s nurse and they take the time to make sure that my question is answered fully, or the Human Resource representative shows that they’re genuinely concerned about my case. I’ll be honest with you, it’s so rare now that when that happens, I say to myself, “Look at God.” I mean, it’s like God made sure that the right representative connected with me instead of someone who acts like they don’t want to be there. I used to think, “Am I being overly sensitive about this?” Then I thought to myself, “No, this is just the times that we’re living in, and it seems that people are more selfish and self-centered and think only about themselves.” I genuinely thank God when I get that person who’s serving me, and they just have a beautiful personality. Just saying.
